The AAV removes air pockets that are present within a central heating system, ensuring that this system doesn't display behaviours such as strange noises and increased corrosion. The Automatic Air Vent does not need to receive instructions from the PCB. There is a float built in to the AAV which matches the water level within the system and allows air to be vented. If the level of the water is high, the float will block the air discharge hole, if the water level is low, air can escape as the discharge hole is no longer blocked.
