The AAV allows the release of air pockets that are present within a closed water system, making sure that this system does not become airlocked. Unlike most components within a boiler, the AAV does not need to receive signals from the PCB to activate. A float within the AAV matches the water level within the system and allows air to be vented. If the level of the water is high, the float will block the air discharge hole, when the level of the water is low, the holes are no longer blocked and the air can escape.
